You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Scenario: Are you a Technical Writer or a budding one? If your response throws affirmative glances, here's what you can ask yourself:
What do you on your weekends? Are you at office developing user manuals and online help?
How about giving some time to reconnect with yourself and others in a fun-filled environment? In addition, you can interact with fellow writers sharing similar interests and living nearby. In this context, the Bangalore Technical Writers Study Meetup Group was formed for share knowledge sharing as well as unwinding ourselves in a simple way.
Why does this event matter: The Meetup group happens to be a place wherein you can share technical writing knowledge amongst the different counterparts. The Meetups are held on third Saturday of every month at various venues namely Continuos Computing, Adobe, Koramangala Club, BEA Systems, Technopoint to name a few.
The Bangalore meetup group has its own website wherein folks may register themselves though its not mandatory. However, a registered member can enjoy certain benefits like interacting with fellow technical writers, accessing the presentations section and all. The meetup group also acts as a platform for folks to showcase their works and also delivering presentations.
The goal is to actively meet up -- and to ensure that happens, members receive e-mail notifications of upcoming events from group admins.
Who organizes the Meetup: The Bangalore Technical Writers Meetup came into inception on July 2004, and Saravanan Manoharan became the organizer from April, 2005. He led the group with the technical writing sessions attended by technical writers, instructional designers, usability experts, and people from different profiles. In June 2005, Saravanan moved to Delhi and started organizing Technical Writers Meetup in Delhi (NCR). Currently, the Bangalore Meetup group sessions are arranged by Rajdeep Gupta, writer with an MNC at Bangalore.
Owing to the immense success of Bangalore Meetup Group, the premier Society for Technical Communications (STC) decided to support the Meetup's endeavors. Sounds great, isn't?
Who all can attend: We would love to say anyone, but since it's not a matrimonial website, so writers or people generally interested in the technical writing sessions can just walk-in.
