Speaker: John Sturtevant Meeting Date: Thursday, November 20, 2008 Meeting Time: Registration starts at 5:30pm Dear Leona: The November NYMetro STC meeting will be held on Thursday, November 20 at Arno's restaurant in NYC.
Information is plentiful in every business. But how you communicate that information is critical. Business people at all levels and in every department must continually turn information into knowledge to help their colleagues, managers, and customers make the right decisions. Clear communication is an essential skill for anyone in business. Clear thinking and persuasive writing result in increased cooperation, simplified processes, and improved productivity.
In this lively 90-minute presentation, you will learn a practical approach to problem analysis, how to form a compelling story, and how to deliver clear and logical presentations.
You'll learn the most important goal in writing (it's not what you think).
You'll hear the #1 question on every reader's mind (you're thinking it right now).
You'll discover why thinking about tomatoes will make you a better writer - guaranteed!
Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or you struggle with every sentence you write, the Writing Workshop will give you the confidence and skills you need to communicate your ideas clearly & persuasively. Best of all, you'll walk out of The Writing Workshop with a fresh perspective and renewed enthusiasm for writing. Plus you'll receive a 38-page workbook to keep as a valuable reference source.

The principles you'll learn in The Writing Workshop will also help you give better presentations. You'll learn to think about your communication objectives and your audience expectations, and you'll discover how to plan and structure a clear, logical presentation.
What you'll accomplish
You will learn to think analytically, focus your objectives, and understand your reader's expectations.
You will learn how to organize your ideas, and present them clearly and logically in writing.
You will learn how to strengthen your management skills through confident, clear writing.
