John Posada, is very excited that we can open the second half of the chapter year with a presentation on what can completely change how you approach your next writing project.
Steven LeClaire will explain how Lean Six Sigma helps you to define every writing process or project. Using it, you can obtain quantifiable data on which to base improvements. Lean Six Sigma also helps you to develop a plan so that you can come up with solutions when your process is producing unexpected (and unsatisfactory) results.
How do you apply this in your daily work? How many times have you produced a document, such as an Installation manual that you thought was good? However, when you released it, customers were unimpressed or unsuccessful in achieving the results. Management then told you to fix it, with no suggestion of how to fix it.

If you are like me, you followed the process in the document (and it worked, as it had the first time). You changed the sequence of some chapters. You rewrote some paragraphs and you added some graphics with arrows and captions. Maybe you even converted some content to bullet or numbered lists.
However, were you able to demonstrate, from the customer's perspective, whether the document was better, or just different?

Steven will help you do just that. He will answer the following questions:
What is Lean Six Sigma?
Can I use Lean Six Sigma?
How can I use Lean Six Sigma?
Come join us for what should be a very informative and eye-opening presentation.
