Wanted: Freelance Technical Writer (NYC)

Avenue A | Razorfish has an immediate opening for a Freelance Technical Writer in our New York office.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:
Technical writer will write training materials for editorial staff using a Teamsite CMS (content management system) to create & edit content as part of daily operations. We need someone to write the user manuals for editors using the CMS to publish content on the client website. The job requires someone to go through the process of creating content and document it (screen shots, step by step guide, etc). Ideally this person is familiar with web sites & the use of a content management system to produce content.

Qualifications:
5-7 years experience writing help manuals & similar documentation
2-3 years experience writing documentation for Teamsite or other content management systems.
Excellent writing and editing skills; knowledge of office automation products and web publication tools
Strong analytical skills, follow up and time management skills; detail oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to initiate and maintain communicative relationships with colleagues
Proficiency with MS Office Professional (with emphasis on Word) and Adobe InDesign needed
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related business degree a plus

Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Manhattan & be able to work on site 100%; no remote candidates please
